Design Build: Comprehensive Building Programs
Whether it is renovating a kitchen or bathroom or adding an expansion, D.R. Hartman Construction offers Design Build solutions for your project. We initially provide free designs and ideas and, upon your approval, create architectural plans necessary to obtain the permits required to meet your county’s codes. The customer’s choices and decisions are an important aspect of our business. By providing local show rooms, our customers can preview products such as cabinets, floor tiles, or lighting fixtures. Rather than envisioning the style, color, or trim, customers can actually see firsthand the materials being used in their project.
After the permits are obtained and final material and product decisions are made, we will start the project and work until every aspect is finished. Because the flooring is one of the most important aspects of a building, we will begin with the layout and excavating process to prepare for pouring concrete flooring or laying block foundations. We will then install the sub floors necessary to hold the weight of the walls, finished flooring, furniture, people, and so on.
Next, we can begin erecting the walls, roofs, and also install windows, doors, siding, gutters, and downspouts. After the fundamental elements are installed, we will install the drywall, trim, finished floors, carpet, hardwood, and ceramic or marble tiles, in addition to interior painting. In the process, we also handle any plumbing or electrical aspects of the job.
Specialty Residential Construction
Oftentimes our customers are looking to add a few finishing elements to enhance the appearance of their home and create outdoor living spaces. A stone or brick patio can create a visually pleasing area, while also serving as an outdoor area for family dinners or gatherings. Other customers may want to create a relaxing deck area complete with a hot tub. A screened-in porch can also offer evenings out on the porch free of bothersome bugs. Whether you are looking to create an outdoor space or even to design a customized driveway leading to your house, Hartman Construction will design and develop an area that is sure to please you.
Residential Remodeling
If you are tired of making meals every night in a kitchen that is out of date, lacks counter space and proper lighting, and is simply not attractive, it is time for a renovation. We specialize in redesigning the existing layout to provide more functional space. Often we will remove a wall to allow more space. In the additional space, we could install cupboards or cabinets to allow for extra storage. Perhaps an island complete with a sink would allow more counter space. We could install recessed lighting to illuminate the entire area. To offer direct lighting for a specific task or area, we could install low voltage track lighting. Not only is it energy saving, but its flexibility will add functionality to your new kitchen. The lights will shine off of new appliances, granite countertops, and hardwood floors.
Bathrooms
For most bathroom renovations, the customer wants to entirely replace the existing color scheme and style with a more contemporary feel. Typically, the existing features, floors, and tiles are removed. New wall finishes and tiles are then installed in a wide array of colors, styles, and patterns. The customer can then choose to have ceramic or marble floor tiles installed. Both are available in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. We will then install the traditional aspects of a bathroom, such as a bathtub and/or shower. You can choose to have a soaking tub installed or a walk-in tiled shower featuring full height glass doors. A granite or marble vanity top matching the style or theme of the bathroom completes the look. You can choose to have either recessed lighting, flush mount ceiling lights, wall sconces, or even mirror lights. You may even consider having one or more lighting options to provide overall luminance and also direct mirror lighting. From the floor to the wall to the lighting, you can custom design a bathroom that will make the neighbors envious.
Decks
Several years ago, if you wanted to build a deck, you mainly worked with treated lumber. However, now, there are a variety of composite decking materials out there. An alternative to traditional wood materials, plastic lumber is available in finishes ranging from a natural wood appearance to numerous colors. PVC lumber is considered low maintenance and doesn’t require the yearly staining or painting that wooden lumber does. In the summer, go barefooted without worrying about hot lumber or splinters. We can design and build a low maintenance deck out of PVC lumber which will look great for years to come.
Sun Porches
While they enjoy sitting on the porch in the evening, many of our previous clients have found they don’t particularly enjoy the company of bugs and mosquitoes. By closing in their deck or porch with a roof and screen panels, we can maintain the outdoor feeling they have grown to love, while also keeping the bugs out.
