About D. R. Hartman Construction, Inc.
Don Hartman - Owner/President
Don started out in construction working for several custom home builders
in West Virginia where he grew up. This gave him experience in all
phases of home construction.
Upon moving to the District of Columbia metro area in February
of 1976, Don went to work for a commercial contractor where he learned
all the phases of the commercial tenant construction trade.
In July
of 1978, Don started his own home improvement company, D. R. Hartman Construction, Inc. Over the
past 28 years, Hartman Construction has completed a wide variety
of jobs including indoor horse riding arenas, churches, homes, porches & much more.
Daniel Hartman
Daniel is the second oldest son of Don
Hartman. Daniel began working for Hartman Construction as soon as he could
sweep floors and pick up trash on the various construction sites.
After graduating from high school in 1998, Daniel worked for another company
installing commercial computer work stations, and he traveled the east
coast. It was a great learning experience for him.
After working
on the road for a year & a half, Daniel came back to work for the
family business. He is now dedicated to learning all the phases
of the commercial & residential construction trade.
Derek Hartman
Derek is the youngest son of Don Hartman.
Derek graduated from high school in 2001. Working for D. R. Hartman Construction, Inc.
with his brothers, Derek has proven his great work ethic and ability
to learn quickly on the job.
Derek
married Nickie Hartman in Dec. of 2006. They
live in Frederick, Maryland. Derek also works at the Frederick County
Fire Academy, and he will be graduating from their program on May 12, 2007. He will be assigned to the fire station shortly thereafter. He will graduate as a Fire Fighter / EMT.
Derek will be returning to work
for Hartman Construction on his days off. We are glad to have Derek
back part time.
Ray Hartman
The oldest of three sons, Ray has worked with Don Hartman since he was old
enough to get in
the truck on any early morning. Ray has been always willing to stay on the job
until it was either done or too late to continue to work.
Ray was
married in June of 2005. At that time he moved with his new bride
to California to work for a interior custom door company. After
a year & a half there, he & his wife, Megan (a school teacher
and graduate of Vanderbilt University), moved back to the area.
Ray is a great asset to the Hartman builders, and he is interested in all phases
of the business.
